Shuimo Ancient Town is located in the southern part of Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, along Shouxi River, a tributary of Minjiang River. It enjoyed the reputation of "Longevity Town" as early as the Shang Dynasty, when it was called "Old People's Village", it was renamed Shuimo until now.

Because of its superior geographical location, it is known as "the recreational resort of the western Sichuan plateau" and "the famous town of Western Qiang culture". In 2010, Shuimo Ancient Town was named "the best example of global post-disaster reconstruction" by the Council of the Global Habitat Environment Forum and the UN-Habitat Global Best Example magazine, and was awarded the title of "China's top-quality cultural tourism scenic spot" by the Organizing Committee of the Third World Cultural Tourism Forum.

Shuimo Town is a blending area of Han and minority nationalities. The inland customs and Tibetan and Qiang cultures reflect each other in the ancient town. The ancient town of Tibetan and Qiang culture blooming in combination with the culture of Buddhism and Buddhism in Xishu. Shuimo Ancient Town is divided into three scenic spots: Chanshou Old Street, Shouxi Lake and Qiang City. Ancient and modern history and culture converge, and Tibetan and Qiang people's cultural customs are gathered together. Walking around ancient towns and villages, there is a painting of "ink and wash" with high mountains and valleys, lakes and mountains, ancient streets and overflowing customs.

Chunfengge Pavilion is a landmark building of Tibetan and Qiang culture blending in Shouxi River. From a distance, Qiang Diaolou and Tibetan roofs stand out in an archaic complex. The old street of Chanshou is the core of the ancient town, with a total length of 1300 meters. The iconic buildings such as Chunfengge Pavilion, Doctor's Di, Wanniantai, Ziku and Baita are interspersed in it. These antique buildings on both sides of the street have the typical Ming and Qing style of Qiang, Tibet and Han.

Tibetan and Qiang Cultural Block is a cultural scenic spot which concentrates the ethnic customs of 12 counties in Aba Prefecture into a collection of ethnic minority buildings, sightseeing and tourism, and the promotion of characteristic tourism products. Malkang, Songpan, Hongyuan, Heishui, Loangtang, Xiaojin, Wenchuan, Jinchuan, Lixian, Maoxian, Jiuzhaigou, Zoige and so on are all displayed in the characteristic buildings of the block.
